PIZZA MARGHERITA RECIPE 🍕Ingredients: Neapolitan dough (2 rounds; 260 grams each) See: Neapolitan Dough Recipe Marinara Pizza Sauce (1 cup) See: Marinara Pizza Sauce Recipe 6 ounces Fresh Mozzarella Cheese (sliced or torn into pieces) 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil 5 or 8 torn fresh basil leaves (per pizza) 🍕 PIZZA PREPARATION: Spoon 1 ladle of Marinara sauce over the pizza leaving a border around the edges for the crust. Sprinkle 2 or 3 cloves of crushed, finely chopped garlic evenly over the pizza. (Optional, not authentic, but delicious) Scatter mozzarella evenly over the sauce (amount to personal taste preference) Bake at 800 to 900 degrees, rotating every 15 seconds or so away from the flame for about 90 seconds to 2 minutes. 🍕FINISH: Take out of oven and place on a wire rack to cool for a minute. Add fresh basil leaves as desired. Drizzle a little extra virgin olive oil over the pizza. Cut and serve Note: If making pizza with fresh mozzarella cheese in a home oven, add the cheese midway so that it doesn't burn (around 3 minutes into the bake). This is because the home oven has a lower temperature (~500 degrees) and the pizza needs to bake longer (around 6-7 minutes) than it would if baked in a high temp oven. 6 or 7 minutes at 500 degrees will burn the fresh mozzarella.
